More cogitations from Lee on topics often derisively dismissed as 'the usual issues' (generally by types who talk of the right wing this, and left wing that - blind proponents of what has become little more than an act of mass mesmerism - an illusion of choice pitting people one against the other, divided and ruled - whilst dark market forces, whom all ultimately serve, grin with greedy glee...), at any rate, those 'usual issues' are still relevant today and the more that air them the better. 'Anathema #2 features an interview with Andy T, poetry, collage, fanzine round-up, The Mob lyrics + pieces on factory fodder, wonky civilisation, old age, gender conditioning, personal revolution, the Falklands war, machismo, insincere celebrity + contributions from Mandi, Paul A, Gerrard (Anabolic Steroids). Cryptas #20, from 2002, mostly includes interviews with bands from latin america, for example the one with Coprofilia (from here, mexico) talking about their "tour" through some countries of latin america and other stuff, that is way cool. and the ones in the cover. also reviews, vegan recipes, some rants (columns). it originally also includes a compilatory cd with bands from here (like Genocide, Hydrofobia, Madriza Salvaje, Trauma, Dovermann, Stress (interviewed in the zine), Hog, Conviccion...), has 42 pages full of cool read. cryptas records is also a record label...
Well, another short work inflicted hiatus...haven't been able to scan anything lately but found this as I was fixing one of my computers. Had to cut the pages out of a digital file which was destined to the printer. Stop, Look and Listen #3 has much good reading in it, including a big piece on the Cro-Mags and other interviews with bands which where around in the late 00's. Definitely worth the download...wonder if any more were made after this one?
