Hot Poop was one of the great 'zines to come out of the early ABC No Rio Scene circa 1989-91. It was published by John Jersey and it lasted 2 issues (like most great 'zines did!). John was one of the original people who help ABC get its start and he really captured alot of the spirit in these pages.

One of my favorite interviews of all time was the Gavin Van Vlack and John Porcell one. I was there for it and John truly did just appear out of nowhere when Gavin was talking about him. It was a surreal moment for sure and made for a great interview. A couple of really good guys.

Please note: The original 'zine was not xeroxed the best, so there are pages where the text was washed out. I did my best to restore it, sadly I can't work miracles...

So here it is a lost classic...Hot Poop!

R.I.P. Don

Well, I tried to get a post up this weekend, but it's still not ready. As much as I try not to pay attention to the holidays, everybody else seems to. So I'll have the next one up after the next year...it's a good one...

Mostly post-punk here... cool to see something about Flowers, who I only know from the Fast Product comp.

Download here.

R.I.P. ARI UP/Silence is a rhythm too...

I was watching a You Tube video of Bikini Kill, when they played London for the first time and remembered the show. After the fact the NME (or Melody Maker) had asked all the doyennes of first wave punk what they thought about this newfangled riot grill business. Poly Styrene said she was at the show, and thought it was boring, a lame rerun of something that had been cool when she was a teenager, but had since played out... I remember reading that, and wondering if she had been at the same show I was at, because as a 14 year old, my experience was completely opposite. I felt engaged, and alive, felt like we could do something, me and my friends, make something out of what we had seen.
